“The Zatrocze Project” – Szczecin in Lithuania

It is the third autumn time artworks from the collectiion of the National Museum in Szczecin decorate the interiors of neoclassical Tyszkiewicz residence in Zatrocze (Trakai, Lithuania).

So called White Palace, built at the beginning of the 20th century at the the shore of Lake Galve has been reconstructed in years 2006-2012 on account of cooperation between Trakai Historical National Park and the Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanów. The lack of not preserved original equipment of the residence is compensated by objects borrowed from Polish collections.

The Szczecin Museum has lent ten works by 19th century portrait and landscape painters: Christian Breslauer, Wojciech Gerson, Rafał Hadziewicz, Izydor Jabłoński, Antoni Kolasiński, Franciszek Lampi, Józafat Ignacy Łukaszewicz, January Suchodolski and Kazimierz Żwan.

The works, carefully restored by the Department of Conservation of The National Museum in Szczecin within “Zatrocze Project”, may be seen in Lithuania for one year.
