An interactive exhibition “City of Science”, an example of modern scientific communication, is an extraordinary form of getting the viewer familiar with basic laws of nature. The exhibition, including over 40 educational objects, shows, among others, such phenomena as reflection, refraction and spreading of light, strobe effect, mirage, real mirror, diffraction and polarization.

The aim of the exhibiton is to arise the interest in science among the society, supporting independent learning and supplementing the offer of educational system. It has to inspire to discover and understand the world by live experience.

On the contrary to objects presented in traditional exhibitions, the exhibits of “City of Science” are designed in an interactive way, so that the visitors could, on their own and in safe conditions, experiment and examine phenomena related to various fields of science. The experiments are related not only to biological, but also social science. The exhibition includes also objects from the border of science and art.

The exhibition has been created by Szczecin scientists from City of Science Foundation, and the conception author is Grzegorz Adamowicz. The team has presented their exhibitions in Międzyzdroje, Łódź, Puławy, Włocławek, Białystok, Toruń and Moscow. In Szczecin, for the first time there are shown new exhibits: crazy clocks, great tap and ferrofluid.

The highlight of the exhibition are, unique in Poland, exhibits presenting various phenomena. Bottomless well, infinity seen from inside, levitation, face erasing, dancing screws are just some of the examples. One of the most important experiment items is a “spinning house”. It shows the power of the mind, activities, which defy full control.

On account of medical models of head and eye the viewers may understand the functionning of human's eyesight organs. The most important of them is, surprisingly, the brain. In the exhibition everything may be touched and the viewers may experiment with themselves.

The exhibition is accompanied by a cycle of educational-popularizing shows of the Crazy Professor aimed at children, youth and adults.

The shows are held each Sunday at 12.00 at noon in a “Skylight Hall” of the National Museum in Szczecin at 3 Wały Chrobrego St. A single ticket costs PLN 10. The tickets are available at the Museum box office (there is a minimum of 10 visitors required to run the show). The subscribtions and reservation on other dates are possible by telephone no. (+48) 887 887 780.
