Children Draw

Children draw in museum are cyclical art activities for children, carried out over several years at The National Museum in Szczecin. The main aim is to enable children direct contact with art, and conscious participation in the creation process. The workshop is also an opportunity to explore profiles of the most famous artists whose works are in the National Museum in Szczecin.

The course includes theoretical elements that allow participants to gain practical knowledge of art. Children learn about such concepts as: the plane, the image plane, still life, composition, perspective, color, creation of color, light and chiaroscuro – allowing analysis of an artwork with reference to its formal features. Observations made in this way are used during the first simple and than more complex exercises of composition. During the course, participants will learn different painting techniques, make their own attempts to create their own artworks and get the basic principles of working with the tools and paints.

Classes are held in Polish.
