The National Museum in Szczecin expresses its condolences to M.K. Čiurlionis National Art Museum in Kaunas - Nacionalinis M. K. Čiurlionio dailės muziejus in connection with the passing away of Osvaldas Daugelis, the longstanding Director the Kaunas Museum, an outstanding curator and museum professional.
With great grief have we learned about the death of our friend. Recently, we were cooperating with the exhibition entitled I See Your Beauty. From Čiurlionis to Kairiūkštis – Lithuanian Art in the First Half of the 20th Century. Its opening has been planned to be held at The National Museum in Szczecin soon - on September 4th 2020. It is hard to express our pain resulting from the fact that this was Osvaldas Daugelis's last project and the exhibition catalogue essay on the history of his museum turned out to be his last text. This sad experience is a major loss for the European museology.
