17th Edition of Szczecin Old Music Festival

ARS CANTUS concert will open this year's 17th edition of Szczecin Old Music Festival. It will be a presentation of one of exceptional relics of musical culture of 15th-century Europe. 

 

Glogauer Liederbuch - Songbook from Głogów is a fascinating time capsule containing vocal compositions, both sacred and secular, by famous aauthors such as: Busnois, Dufay, Tinctoris, Frye, including composers associated with Lower Silesia - Paulus de Broda, Berbleyn, Attamasch and Piotr from Grudziądz. This extraordinary musical portrait of the epoch will be presented by Ars Cantus, who have been successfully discovering the heritage of the past of vocal art for years. The band of outstanding Wrocław singers and instrumentalists will be led by Tomasz Dobrzański, a multi-instrumentalist, researcher and reconstructor of historical instruments, one of the undisputed authorities and leaders of the early music community in Poland.

 

The concert is to be held at the conference hall of The National Museum in Szczecin at ul. Wały Chrobrego 3. Sanitary restriction are required to be followed. The spectators have to wear safety masks or visors and keep the distance set by the NMS staff.
