The presented works are a summary of Drawing and Painting classes held in academic year 2021/2022. This year, the students' focus were, beside typical workshop creations, topics rekated to the output of Matisse - the forerunner and main representative of Fauvism. This stream was characterised by simplification of form, use of strong, contrasting colours which frequently did not interfere with reality. It existed for a short time - only two years, but it had a great impact on painting art and was the basis for modern art. A new technique introduced during the calsses was cutout, made by the artist at the late stage of his life. He called it "painting with scissors".

For 11 years the participants of the classes have been following their artistic passion within a programme that focuses on learning about basic artistic techniques, materials and tools as well as workshop tricks of famous artists and chosen topics of contemporary art history.

So far, the works of the group were presented at Collegium Balticum Academy of Applied Sciences in Szczecin, Dom Kultury Słowian, the Pomeranian Library, Stara Rzeźnia, the National Museum in Szczecin and Dom Kultury 13 Muz. The group has existed for 11 years. Since the beginning, it's drawing and painting teacher has been artist Grażyna Gawęda.

The vernissage is to be held on June 30th 2022 (Thursday) at 5:00 P.M.

The exhibition will be available from June 30th to August 30th 2022 in the National Museum in Szczecin at ul. Wały Chrobrego 3.
