ADLOYADA 2019 8th Jewish Culture Days [SCHEDULE]

8th Jewish Culture Days will be devoted to non-obvious relations between culture and mass media. Exhibitions, discussions, shows, concerts, lectures, workshops, presentations will concern, among others, such issues as: representation of elite and popular culture in the media; sacrum and profanum in the mass media; politics and culture in the media; representation of environmental and age groups in the mass media; involved media; contemporary pluralism; religion on radio, television and press. As in the previous editions of the festival, we will highlight the role of culture (and the media) in shaping local and regional communities (urban, district, housing and school ones).

During the festival, we will discuss contemporary conceptions of culture and media, as they are understood in literature, philosophy and art. The participants of the festival meetings will also take up topics that are fundamental to understanding contemporary public debate (territorial and ideological diversity of the media, local and central environment in the mass media, the role of media in animating and sustaining contemporary conflicts, contemporary marches on the radio, television, the internet and the press, the symbolic sphere in the media, symbolic violence in the media, culture of carnival of social life and culture of cultural negotiations, forms of commemorating local and national anniversaries in the media).

The festival spot will be Piwnica Kany - a pub cooperating with the Kana Theatre in Szczecin and located next to its seat. It will be the place where participants of Adloyada will be able to relax and share their impressions of the events. Festival evenings will be accompanied by live music.
