The organisation of the West-Pomeranian Heritage Days is coordinated by the Office for Documentation of Monuments in Szczecin, Alliance Française in Szczecin is participating for the second time. The Marshal of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Olgierd Geblewicz, has assumed honorary patronage of the West-Pomeranian Heritage Days.

Every year, the West-Pomeranian Heritage Days traditionally combine the themes of the European Heritage Days with a very strong emphasis on the cultural and historical specificity of our region. This year's Heritage Days in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in 2023 theme is "Spaces of Heritage".

The main aim of the West-Pomeranian Heritage Days is to promote the diversity of regional heritage and strengthen social identification seen in both its tangible and intangible dimensions.

The theme refers to objects, places, landscapes and elements of both tangible and intangible heritage, reflected in practices, messages, ideas, knowledge, skills and objects. Heritage spaces are specific "places of memory" of landscapes, spatial arrangements or individual houses marked by human presence, creating history, traditions and identity of places.

This year's theme is also in line with the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, as well as the 10th anniversary of the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

All events held from August to October are aimed at the widest possible audience and participation is free and fully accessible. For updates on the programme of the West-Pomeranian Heritage Days 2023, please follow the link:  CLICK
